The Droga krajowa 81 (DK81) is a country road in Poland . It runs south from Katowice to Skoczów . The route is 65 km long and has four lanes throughout almost the entire course, with the exception of a section in the Katowice district of Brynów. It connects the A4 near Katowice with the S52 near Skoczów. The continuation of DK81 towards Ustroń , Wisła and the border with the Czech Republic is Droga wojewódzka 914 (DW914). It is the shortest connection from the Upper Silesian industrial area to the Silesian Beskids .

history

In 1985 the Polish road network was reorganized. The previous state roads (droga państwowa) were renamed and renumbered as state roads (droga krajowa) . The road from Katowice to Skoczów was called Droga krajowa No. 93 from 1986 .

In 2003, the numbering of the road network was changed so that the numbers 91-99 were only used for roads that were replaced by parallel motorways. At that time the DK 93 was renamed to DK 81 .
