The Droga krajowa 93 (DK 93) is a Polish national road in the far north west of the province Zachodniopomorskie . It has had the classifying designation only since January 1, 2007. With its total length of 14 km, the DK 93 is one of the shortest state roads in Poland and is only an extensive bypass of the busy Droga krajowa 3 in the city of Świnoujście (Swinoujscie) .
The reason for the classification as Droga krajowa also lies in the opening of the border crossing between the Polish district of Wydrzany (Friedrichsthal) of Świnoujście and the German town of Garz . This creates a second road connection between the German and Polish parts of the island of Usedom (Polish: Uznam ), next to the border crossing point between Ahlbeck and Świnoujście, which was supplemented in 2008 by the restored Ahlbeck – Świnoujście railway . The border crossing at Garz also provides Świnoujście with an advantageous connection to the regional airport Heringsdorf near Garz.
With the opening of the Świnoujście / Garz border crossing point, the continuous course of the former Reichsstraße 110 , which existed until 1945, was restored. This runs today - coming from Rostock - as federal highway 110 to the German-Polish border and on the Polish side as Droga krajowa 93 to Swinoujscie.
