  • The Droga ekspresowa S86 ( Polish for 'expressway S86') is one of the shortest expressways in Poland with a length of 6.8 kilometers .

It serves as a connection between the neighboring cities of Katowice and Sosnowiec and was completed between 1978 and 1986 as part of national road 86 . Although the S86 is signposted as an expressway, it was not included in the network plans of the GDDKiA and the government until 2015 . With a government decision of October 13, 2015, the S86 was added to the Polish motorway and expressway network.

As one of the main traffic axes of the Upper Silesian industrial area and in addition that the state roads  4 and  94 run along the route, the road is characterized by the very high volume of traffic, so that there are frequent traffic jams. In the 2010 traffic census, the route took first place as the road with the highest traffic in Poland. The average traffic volume is 104,339 vehicles per day.
