  • Under construction
  • In planning
  • The Droga ekspresowa S74 ( pol. For "expressway S74") is a partly completed or mostly planned expressway in Poland . It should connect Sulejów and Nisko with each other. The route is to run from Kielce along the existing national road 74 to Opatów , then follow the national road 9 to Lipnik , and finally to lead on the national road 77 to Nisko, where it crosses the planned expressway S19 . The total length is almost 200 kilometers. This could increase as the road from Sulejów to the Łódź area and from Nisko to the Ukrainian border could not be ruled out.

    Planning history

The connection between Kielce ( S7 ) and Nisko ( S19 ) was included in the network planning for the first time in 1976. In the 1985 network plan, the line was extended to Piotrków Trybunalski . The route is then included unchanged in the plans until 1996. The route is no longer included in the network planning from 2001. In the planning from 2003, the route is again included in a modified form. The line is now led to Sulejów and designated as S74.

    Kielce - Cedzyna

This 6.8-kilometer section leads east from Kielce . At Cedzyna the road ends at a roundabout with national road 74 . Of the 6.8 kilometers, 2.7 km of the road are within and 4.1 km outside of the urban area of Kielce, making the section one of the most important traffic routes in the city. It is the first part of the S74 and is signposted. The expressway is equipped with two lanes and two lanes each. The construction contract with a consortium consisting of the companies Przedsiębiorstwa Robót Inżynieryjnych "Fart", Mostów-Łódź and Fardub Consulting was signed on April 24, 2009. A 30-month construction period was agreed, which also included the completion of the planning documents. The construction work officially started on June 17th, 2009. The completion date was set for November 24, 2011. On November 27th the construction work was declared finished. However, the necessary modalities were delayed, so that the handover took place on December 17, 2011. The construction costs amounted to 285 million zlotys .

    Further planning

On July 23, 2008, discussions took place in the Polish Ministry of Transport about changing the plans for the S74 in the Łódź Voivodeship . So far, the plan is to let the S74 merge with the S12 , which is also being planned, at Sulejów . In the change that has now been discussed, the route is to be run from Paradyż to Tomaszów Mazowiecki and then further in the direction of Łódź , in order to achieve better integration with the A1 Danzig - Gliwice and the S8 Warsaw - Wroclaw . The public hearing took place at the beginning of February 2011 with the presentation of the possible route variants of the S12 and S74. In April 2011, based on the results of the public hearing, the first planning stage, the Corridor Study (pl .: Studium Korytarzowe ), was started. Their primary purpose is to determine the possible corridors of the routes of the S12 and S74 as well as their interdependence with the other public road network. The continuation of the S74 is not yet part of the government's planned motorway and expressway network.
