The Scherri passenger ship , which was rebuilt in 1990 at the Ertel shipyard in Woltersdorf , is one of the oldest passenger ships still in operation in the Federal Republic of Germany , along with the Mocambo from 1872.
Today's motor ship Scherri was in 1879 as a steamship in the Reiherstieg shipyard in Steinwerder for the United Alster Schiffer as a so Alsterdampfer under the name Heron built. It was 20.95 meters long and 4.38 meters wide. The steam engine had an output of 50 hp and the ship was approved for 150 people. The steamer , which was later converted into a smooth-decker , sailed under constantly changing names ( Reiher, Rhea, Harvestehude, Gothmund, Roland, Saterland ) on the northern German and Lower Saxony waters of the Trave , Hamme , Weser , Hunte , Jümme , Leda and after its Alster period Ems . In 1949 he received a 100 hp diesel engine . In 1990 the current skipper bought the heavily neglected ship, which went into service as Scherri on the Schermützelsee in 1992 after an extensive shipyard overhaul . The passenger ship of the “Seetours Märkische Schweiz” has space for 70 guests, is 20.95 meters long, 4.38 meters wide and has a load capacity of around 35 tons .
