Schiedungen , with the associated Pfaffenstock homestead , is a district of Hohenstein in the Nordhausen district in Thuringia .

Schiedungen is the southernmost part of the municipality of Hohenstein. The district still borders on the Vorharz. The terrain is also still undocked. The district is located on the upper Helme and is surrounded by meadows, fields, a little forest and the water reservoir Schiedungen . The Ohe flows into the helmets on the southwestern outskirts of the village. Coming from the north , the Sete flows from Limlingerode to Schiedungen, and it flows into the Helme a few meters east of the development boundary. The village has three connection options to the state roads 1034, 2062 and 2064.
history
The district of Schiedungen was first mentioned in a document from 1193 to 1212.
The formerly independent community of Schiedungen belonged to the Grenzland administrative community from 1991 to 1996 . With the dissolution of this on October 17, 1996, the member communities were merged to form the community of Hohenstein.
In arbitrations, APEX Bäuerliche AG has its headquarters as the successor to the former LPG . The farm buildings and the areas to be cultivated are distributed over the community of Hohenstein . A residential area is being built in the direction of Pützlingen .
Attractions
- The village church of the Holy Spirit is a neo-Romanesque church building from 1859, incorporating older buildings. The interior of the church has been renovated since 2005 and the winter church has been rebuilt.
- Storage facility: The water storage facility is fed by the Helme , which is at its western end at 204.4 m above sea level. NN joins. When the reservoir is full, the Helme flows south past the lake. The body of water has an area of around 28.5 ha , the dam at its eastern end, over which the L 1034 runs, has a length of 150 m in north-south orientation. Today the lake is used for carp breeding .
