The Fürstenberg lock is a lock on the Upper Havel waterway .
description
The Fürstenberg lock is located at kilometer 60.70 of the Upper Havel waterway in Fürstenberg / Havel in the Oberhavel district . It is located in the connection between the Röblinsee and the Baalensee east of the road bridge of the federal highway 96 .
An investigation in 2004 revealed considerable structural defects in the entire lock system. In 2009 the construction contract for a new building was awarded, which was carried out between September 2009 and June 2010. The construction costs amounted to around 7 million euros and were borne by the Federal Waterways and Shipping Administration .

Since the Obere Havel waterway is no longer used by cargo ships and is only used by a few small passenger ships, it has developed into a popular area for sports boats of all sizes and classes.
