The house at Schmale Straße 24 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located on the west side of Schmalen Strasse, north of the town's market square and is listed as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The building, which is also listed, borders on Schmale Strasse 23 to the south .
Architecture and history
The two-storey plastered half-timbered house goes back to an older building that was probably built in the 16th century. Remains of a gate designed as a round arch and a wall on the street side made of sandstone blocks date from this time . In 1702, after a building inscription on two stones, the house was rebuilt or converted by the master carpenter Martin Lange . The inscription M. MARTEN LANGE, decorated with an ax and hook as a coat of arms, refers to him . ZM . The dividing circle , which is otherwise common at Lange , as a symbol for the creation of the building draft, is missing, as he only rebuilt the building and included the older sandstone facade in his construction work. It is believed that the house could have been Lange's home.
