The house at Schmale Straße 30 is a listed building in the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located on the west side of Schmalen Strasse, north of the town's market square in a corner at the confluence of Heidfeldstrasse and Schmale Strasse and is listed as a residential building in the Quedlinburg monument register. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The building, which is also listed, borders on Schmale Strasse 29 to the south .

Architecture and history

The two-storey half - timbered house was built in parts around 1500. The upper storey and the gable date from this time . The half-timbering of the north gable is provided with a cross pattern in the upper area. There are four very wide oak posts on the southern part of the building. The stick threshold has an elongated profile and is decorated with notch-cut medallions adorned with quatrefoil patterns. It shows similarities to the threshold of the house Neustädter Kirchhof 15 . There are remains of carvings on the sawn-off beam heads .

A northern side wing, also built in half-timbered construction, extends along Heidfeldstrasse to the property. This building was built in the 17th century and rests on a square base. The plastered facade is designed in the classicism style. There is a barrel vault in the basement of the wing .
