history

Schwanebeck was founded around 1230 as an anger village by settlers from the Altmark. The place was first mentioned in a document in 1257. On Easter that year, the margraves Johann I and his brother Otto III. from Brandenburg to the monastery Zehdenick two Hufen land, which probably corresponded to 15 hectares, in the village "Schwanebecke". The origin of the name Schwanebeck has not yet been finally clarified. A derivation from Low German could apply here, Swan = swan and Beek = Bach so Schwanenbach. In the land book of Emperor Charles IV from 1375 the size of Schwanebeck was given as 63 hooves. It mentions 16 farmers, many kossas and a windmill. In 1427 the village of Swanebeck near Bernawe was pledged by the incumbent Margrave Johannes to Heinze Danre and his wife Dorotheen for 213 shock Bohemian groschen .

In 1759 the entire northern part of the village was destroyed by fire.

From a decree of the royal government of Potsdam it can be seen that 194 acres and 82 rods (6 hooves ) of the church land at Schwanebeck were to be leased on August 31, 1840 . The Royal District and City Court of Bernau requested this on August 18, 1840. The lease was organized through a public auction with the highest bidding in the Schulzengericht von Schwanebeck. On September 17, 1874 Schwanebeck and Friedrichshofe belong to the registry office district Buch with estate and parish Buch and estate and parish Birkholz in the superordinate 27th district of the administrative district of Potsdam Kreis Niederbarnim. Zepernick and Schönow also belonged to the 27th district . The registrar was head of the estate and his deputy head of the community was Margrave there. In 1856 Schwanebeck had a total of 246 inhabitants. On March 22, 1897, two imperial empires were planted in Schwanebeck and Birkholz for the 100th birthday of Kaiser Wilhelm I. They are a present from former Chancellor Otto von Bismarck from his possession in the Sachsenwald . In 1904 the Alpenberge settlement north-west of Schwanebeck was founded. In 1908 the colonies of Neu-Schwanebeck, Gehrenberge, Bergwalde, Schwanebeck-West and Neu-Buch began to be settled .
