The village Schwarzensee located in the Vienna Woods north of Triestingtals , in an approximately 500  m above sea level. A. located high valley, and forms a cadastral community of Weissenbach an der Triesting .

The nearby Peilstein is a popular hiking area and climbing garden.

  • 1146 The Aegydius Chapel was built.
  • 1155 The Bethsteighof is mentioned in a document .
  • 1233–56 A Heinrich von Schwarzensee appears as a witness.
  • 1382–84 Wolfhart von Schwarzensee is a city judge in Wiener Neustadt .
  • 1391–92 Wolfhart von Schwarzensee is mayor of Wiener Neustadt.
  • 1529 During the 1st Turkish siege of Vienna , the nearby Arnstein Castle is destroyed.
  • 1595 In the course of the Reformation , Schwarzensee and Neuhaus - probably due to their inaccessible geographical location - form Protestant enclaves in the otherwise Catholic Vienna Woods.
  • 1683 During the second Turkish siege , the population is decimated.
  • 1809 According to tradition, that year a man from Steinfeld lived with a beautiful young woman in the Betsteighofe . Napoleonic soldiers - on the way to the battle of Aspern (or Wagram ) - quartered there. Peasant resistance fighters shot through the keyhole, but instead of a Frenchman they met the young woman. The rushing soldiers were overwhelmed by the peasants and, also to prevent betrayal, killed at the foot of the gallows bolt , a 590 m high hill.
  • 1910 Sand and gravel are mined in Kienberg.
