The Schwarzkopf is 2996  m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks in the Tauern main ridge of the Venediger group . It is located in the southwest of the Zell am See district ( Land Salzburg ) and in the north of East Tyrol .

location

The Schwarzkopf is a summit in the eastern part of the Tauern main ridge, within the Venediger group. It is located in the Hohe Tauern National Park on the municipal boundaries of Habach and Matrei in East Tyrol , with the surrounding area on the Tyrolean side being owned by the Austrian Alpine Association. The Schwarzkopf is located between the Green Habach ( 2970  m above sea level ) in the southwest and the Kratzenberg ( 3022  m above sea level ) in the northeast. While there is no named gorge to the insignificant Green Habach, the Schwarzkopfscharte ( 2868  m above sea level ) separates the Schwarzkopf from the Kratzenberg. The Habachkees stretches north of the Schwarzkopf and the northern Vilhabenkee to the south .

Promotion opportunities

A hiking trail runs east of the Schwarkopf over the Schwarzkopfscharte and connects the Neue Thüringer Hütte (Fürther Weg) with the Alte Prager Hütte or the St. Pöltner Hütte (St. Pöltner Westweg). For the normal route, however, the Habachscharte located west of the Grünes Habach must first be traversed. This glacier ridge can be reached from the north via the Habachkees from the Neue Thüringer Hütte or from the south from the Venedigerhaus via the northern Vilhabenkees. Then the normal route follows the ridge to the Green Habach and over the southwest ridge to the summit. Further variants on the Schwarzkopf are the northeast ridge ( UIAA III ) from the Schwarzkopfscharte, the southeast face ( UIAA III ) and the northeast face ( UIAA IV ).
