Pork earth , Upper Sorbian , is a village in the center of the Bautzen district in Upper Lusatia and has belonged to the Panschwitz-Kuckau community since 1957 . Schweinerden is located in the Sorbian core settlement area about two kilometers south-east of Panschwitz-Kuckau on the right valley slope of the monastery water . Most of the population speaks Sorbian .
The neighboring towns are Siebitz in the southwest, Neuhof in the south, Cannewitz in the southwest and Panschwitz-Kuckau in the northwest. Not far to the north, the S 100 road runs from Bautzen to Kamenz .
history
The square village was first mentioned in 1296 as Zwinern or Zwynern . The basic rule was the monastery of St. Mary Star , which meant that pig earth about the Reformation addition catholic remained. Schweinerden was the seat of a monastery suburb.
