The Schweizertor (also: Schwitzertor ) is a mountain pass (pass height 2137 m above sea level ) in the Alps ( Eastern Alps , Northern Limestone Alps ). It is located between the Austrian state of Vorarlberg and the Prättigau in the canton of Graubünden ( Switzerland ).
Location and special features
The Schweizertor is located in the municipality of Vandans , the municipality border to Tschagguns is about 850 meters as the crow flies, and Tschagguns is about 8 km as the crow flies. After St. Antönien in Switzerland is just 8 km away, Schiers km around 10.5 crow flies.
Lünersee to the northwest is about 2.5 km away as the crow flies.
Near the Drusentor, about 1500 meters south-east, there is the Drusenfluh ( 2827 m ) and 2600 meters as the crow flies , the Drei Türme (up to 2830 m , also called Dri Türm or three Drusentürme ), three peaks in the Drusenfluh group.
Southeast, 2300 meters as the crow flies, the closest pass to Switzerland is the Eisjöchle (about 2636 m , also: Isjöchli or Eisjöchl ) and then about 3 km away is the Drusentor ( 2341 m , also: Drusator ).
Waters
The Zaluandabach rises at water kilometers 12.54 near the Swiss Gate (on Vandanser municipality area) at about 2193 m above sea level. A. The course of the Rellsbach creek begins at the confluence of the Zaluandabach and the Lünbach (Vilifaubach) on the left side at water kilometers 6.55 ( 1457 m above sea level ) near the Rellser Mariahilfkapelle ; its watercourse kilometrage continues that of the more important right upper reaches Zaluandabach, which comes here from the south.

The closest hiking base is the Lindauer Hütte , from which it takes about 2.5 hours to reach the Swiss Gate. In some passages, the area requires good footwear, good surefootedness and a head for heights. Rapid cold spells can also occur in summer.
In the course of the Rätikon tour , a nine-day circumnavigation of the Rätikon Mountains through all three neighboring countries, the Swiss Gate is passed.
