Schwer Fittings is a manufacturer of fittings , ball valves , valves , fittings , pipes and hoses made of stainless steel. The screw connection components are mainly intended for gaseous and fluidic applications.
The family-run company based in Denkingen in Baden-Württemberg has 18 subsidiaries in 18 countries and four other sales offices in Germany. In 2011 the group employed around 250 people, 100 of them at the Denkingen site; three years later there were 280.
history
The origins of the company go back to the Schwer & Weber company founded by Hans Schwer and Erwin Weber in Gosheim on the Swabian Alb in 1938 , which manufactured nuts for the aircraft industry . After the end of the Second World War , the production facilities were confiscated by the French occupying forces ; the company was dissolved in 1945 .
In the same or the following year, Hans Schwer made a fresh start and founded the company Hans Schwer GmbH , a production company for nuts and bolts. In 1956/57 the company headquarters were relocated to Denkingen; the manufacture of precision turned parts began there. When the company's founder died in 1961, the Schwer family was overwhelmed with the continuation of production and limited itself to trading; the company was renamed Hans Schwer KG and experienced an economically difficult time.
In 1977 the sons Bernd and Klaus Schwer - the former a technician, the latter a businessman - took over the management of the company, which was henceforth called Hans Schwer GmbH , and resumed the manufacture of precision turned parts. The main product was stainless steel components for the pharmaceutical industry . At the same time, the new stainless steel fittings division was created in 1980 . The internationalization of the group began in the 1990s; The first production facilities and sales offices abroad were opened. Around 1995 - the new fittings division now accounted for two thirds of the business volume - the Schwer brothers decided to separate their activities. Bernd Schwer took over the fittings segment, which was spun off into the new Schwer Fittings GmbH ; the precision parts business under the management of Klaus Schwer has been operating as Schwer Präzision GmbH since then . In addition, SDN Dreh- und Normteile GmbH (today SDN Präzisionstechnik GmbH ) was founded under the direction of Heinz Schwer. All three companies are based in Denkingen.
In 2011, Schwer Fittings moved into a new logistics and administration center on Hans-Schwer-Platz in Denkingen; the investment for this amounted to 5 million euros. The Dutch subsidiary also moved to a new company building in 2013. Schwer Fittings has also been selling its products online since 2014, with a separate, local-language website being set up for each foreign branch.

Products
Schwer Fittings manufactures pipe connections, pipes, hoses and fittings made of stainless steel, as well as assembly aids. The product range is divided into the application areas hydraulics / pneumatics , instrumentation and sanitary technology . The range includes around 30,000 different items (as of 2014). [obsolete] Each individual part produced is laser labeled with a serial number so that production can be completely traced.
The products are used in the food and pharmaceutical industries, environmental technology , the automotive industry , shipbuilding and the paper industry , among others .
