The Scottish Masters 1983 was a snooker tournament as part of the Snooker Main Tour of the 1983/84 season . The invitation tournament was held from September 22nd to 25th at the Skean Dhu Hotel in Glasgow . It was the third edition of the tournament.

Last year, world number one Steve Davis had won the tournament. He reached the final again, where he met Tony Knowles . With 9: 6 he successfully defended his title.

Prize money

There was £ 2,500 more in the prize money pot this year than in 1982. For the winner, the bonus rose by £ 1,000 to around £ 10,000, the other players received correspondingly lower bonuses.
