Sean Collins (born December 29, 1988 in Saskatoon , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who was under contract with HK Sochi from the Continental Hockey League (KHL) until April 2020 and played there on the position of the center .
Career
Collins began his career in the 2006/07 season with the Waywayseecappo Wolverines in the Canadian Junior League Manitoba Junior Hockey League , where he spent two seasons. Between 2008 and 2012 he was on the ice for the university team of Cornell University in the ECAC Hockey , which is integrated into the game operations of the NCAA . In March 2012, Collins received a contract with the National Hockey League - Organization of the Columbus Blue Jackets , which had previously secured the transfer rights to the attacker as part of the Entry Draft 2008. Also due to the lockout , the Canadian played the first half of the 2012/13 season for the Springfield Falcons farm team before he was called up to the Blue Jackets squad for the first time in February 2013 and made his debut in the 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks in the top division in North America. In the following two and a half years, however, the left shooter was unable to establish himself in the NHL squad and spent much of the time in the AHL.
In July 2015, Collins signed a one-year contract with the Washington Capitals , where he was used with the exception of two NHL appearances with the farm team Hershey Bears in the AHL. In July 2016, he moved to the newly founded Kunlun Red Star club from the Continental Hockey League .
