Franklin De'Sean "Sean" Weatherspoon (* 29. December 1987 in Greenville , South Carolina ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of Outside linebackers .

Early years

Weatherspoon went to Jasper High School , where he played American football as a linebacker. He later went to the University of Missouri . For their college football team , he brought it to 155 tackles in 2008 , which was the second most tackles ever in a season in the history of this college.

NFL

Atlanta Falcons

Sean Weatherspoon was selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft as the 19th player by the Atlanta Falcons , where he was awarded a five-year contract. In his first season, he played eleven of 16 games, scoring 42 tackles and one sack . In 2011 , in his second season, Weatherspoon became a regular at his position. He never missed a season game and scored 115 tackles and 4 sacks. Another year later he was named captain of the Falcons Defense . He finished the season with 95 tackles and three sacks. In the 2013 season he was able to achieve his first touchdown . However, he missed nine season games due to an injury. The 2014 season missed Weatherspoon complete a due Achilles tendon rupture .

Arizona Cardinals

On March 11, 2015, Weatherspoon signed a one-year contract with the Arizona Cardinals .

Return to the Atlanta Falcons

On March 10, 2016, Weatherspoon returned to the Falcons. He signed a one-year contract. After the fourth match day, he was put on the reserve list after a torn Achilles tendon . The Falcons reached the Super Bowl LI , which was lost to the New England Patriots at 28:34 . Weatherspoon could not take part in this game due to his injury.

On October 24, 2017, he again signed a one-year contract with the Falcons. However, he did not get beyond two missions.

Private

Sean Weatherspoon is the great cousin of former basketball player Teresa Weatherspoon . Weatherspoon has two older brothers and an older sister.
