Seho Chang

Seho Chang (born June 28, 1981 in Seoul ) is a South Korean opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

Seho Chang became interested in music at a very early age and began his studies at the Korea National University of Arts, which he successfully completed in 2004.

He made his first experiences as a singer in Seoul and Vienna in the Mozart operas " Le nozze di Figaro " as Figaro and in " Don Giovanni " as Leporello and Don Giovanni and gave concerts with songs, in particular by Franz Schubert , Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms .

From 2007 he continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Franz Lukasovsky . In June 2008 he won the Schubert Prize of the Richard Tauber Competition.

During his studies he was engaged as a guest at the Landestheater Linz in autumn 2009 , where he has been a permanent member of the opera ensemble since the 2010/2011 season.

In 2013 Seho Chang received a Bayreuth scholarship from the Richard Wagner Association Linz.
