Shariff Aguak (formerly Maganoy ) is a third income class administrative community in the Philippine province of Maguindanao on the island of Mindanao .

Shariff Aguak was named Maganoy on November 22, 1973 by Presidental Degree No. 341 under the name of Maganoy. In 1996 the city was renamed Shariff Aguak.
