Shonto ( Navajo : Shą́ą́ʼtóhí) is a census-designated place in Navajo County in the US state of Arizona . Shonto has 568 inhabitants on an area of 11.8 km². It is located in the Navajo Nation at 1902 m. Shonto is affected by US Highway 160 and Arizona State Route 98 .
