Siedlice ( German Seidlitz ) is a village in Upper Silesia . Siedlice is located in the municipality of Pokój in the Namysłowski powiat in the Polish Opole Voivodeship .

Geographical location

Siedlice is located in the north-western part of Upper Silesia. Siedlice is located about eight kilometers northwest of the Pokój municipality , about 22 kilometers south of the district town of Namysłów and 55 kilometers northwest of the voivodeship capital Opole .

The village is located within the Stobrawski Landscape Protection Park . This also includes the forest areas to the south and east. The Stober (Polish: Stobrawa ) flows north of the village .

history

The village of Seidlitz was founded in 1772 as a colony in the course of the Frederician colonization. The settlers were mainly used for forest work.

In 1778 a Protestant school was founded in the Seidlitz colony.

In 1845 there was a Protestant school and another 25 houses in the village. In 1845 there were 193 people in Seidlitz, eight of them Catholic. In 1874 the Carlsruhe OS district was founded, to which Seidlitz was incorporated.

In the referendum in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921, 195 eligible voters in the rural community of Seidlitz voted to remain with Germany and one for Poland. Seidlitz remained with the German Empire . 195 people lived in Seidlitz in 1933 and 201 in 1939. Until 1945 the place was in the district of Opole .

In 1945 the previously German town of Seidlitz came under Polish administration and was renamed Siedlice and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950 the place came to the Opole Voivodeship . In 1999 the place came to Powiat Namysłowski .
