Siegfried Hauffe

Siegfried Hauffe (born April 4, 1923 in Plauen ; † 1997 ibid) was a German painter and illustrator .

Life

After attending elementary and secondary school, Siegfried Hauffe graduated from the Plauen Art and Technical School for the Textile Industry before he returned to his hometown in 1946 after being deployed in the war and staying in a hospital - with 130 scars and a crippled hand. Kurt Geipel (1902–1944) and Walther Löbering (1885–1969) were his teachers at the Plauen Art School from 1937 to 1941 .

Since the end of the war, Hauffe worked as a freelance painter in Kauschwitz (since 1999 a district of Plauen) and a member of the Association of Visual Artists (VBK) of the GDR . In addition to Vogtland landscapes, there are many animal and hunting motifs in the oeuvre of the artist and hunter. Self-portraits, still lifes with flowers and the depiction of a motorcycle racing competition at the end of the 1980s on the Schleizer Dreieck have also been preserved.
