Siegfried Stocker (born July 15, 1944 - † June 4, 2016 ) was a German entrepreneur . He took over his father's 1970 Pfisterei (bakery), converted it into today's Ludwig Stocker GmbH Hofpfisterei order, and was considered by the organic production as "environmental" or " eco -Pionier".

Life

Siegfried Stocker was the son of Munich Pfister Ludwig Stocker, who leased the Pfisterei from the royal crown estate administration in 1917, rebuilt it near the Hofbräuhaus am Platzl in 1947 after the destruction in Munich's old town in World War II , and after taking over the Pfistermühle in 1964 in the old town Kreittmayrstraße 5 started baking bread again.

Siegfried Stocker joined the family business as early as 1963. In 1970 Siegfried Stocker, who had studied economics , took over his father's company, converted it into today's company and pursued a differentiation strategy by placing natural (ecological) production in the foreground. Despite initial acceptance difficulties, the company only produced organic breads from 1993 and was able to consolidate its market position in the 1980s with the growing environmental awareness of the population. A particular concern of the "Bread King" was to protect the groundwater . Within ten years he opened around 100 branches.

When he died, nearly 600 organic farmers were growing rye , wheat , spelled and barley for the company. Among other things, Siegfried Stocker acquired the Meyer-Mühle in Landshut and expanded it into Germany's largest organic mill ( Landshuter Kunstmühle CA Meyer's Nachhaben AG ), and in the 1990s he also built the organic butcher's Landfrau in Emmering . When he died in 2016, Hofpfisterei GmbH had 163 branches, almost 1,000 employees and a turnover of 93 million euros per year. The company has received several awards. He worked for the company himself for 45 years, then his daughter Nicole Stocker took over the company.

Siegfried Stocker lived in Icking . He was active in employers ', food and environmental associations, for example Chairman of the Employers' Association Food and Enjoyment . He died at the age of 71. The funeral service took place in the Munich Church of St. Benno . After his death, Nicole Stocker took over the entire company.
