action

Actually, everything could be very nice in the St. Bartholomäus retirement home - if the head nurse Linprun didn't bully the residents all the time. A sprightly old lady dies unexpectedly, so that Rudolf, his friend Alfons and her friend Margarethe assume that the hated nurse Linprun must have poisoned them. When the police find no evidence, the "silver thistles" hatch a plan.

Silver thistles were mostly well received. In the Internet Movie Database , the film received 6.3 stars out of 10. The TV magazine Prisma sums it up: “Without making any concessions to genre expectations, Udo Wachtveitl tells a comedy full of black humor in his debut as a writer and director, which constantly plays with the expectations of the audience and contradicts them in a clever way - to a bitter end . ”Furthermore, Wachtveitl would offer the“ top-class ensemble the opportunity to enjoy great ease and joy in playing ”. Special mention is made of Heinz Schubert , "who once again succeeded in creating a figure in his last film who virtuously combines righteous rebellion and disgruntled shrewdness". Also TV movie praises the dramatic performance and called the film a "jet-black pensioners Posse". The film service describes silver thistles as a melancholy comedy "which breaks a lance for the elderly and speaks out for their dignity".
