Silvio Luoni

Silvio Luoni (born July 7, 1920 in Busto Arsizio , Varese Province , Italy ; † April 11, 1982 ) was a Roman Catholic Archbishop and diplomat of the Holy See .

Life

Silvio Luoni received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Milan on October 1, 1944 .

On May 15, 1978 Pope Paul VI appointed him . the Titular Archbishop of Turris in Mauretania and ordered him to Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Thailand and the apostolic delegate in Malaysia , Singapore and Laos . The Archbishop of Milan, Giovanni Cardinal Colombo , donated him episcopal ordination on June 25 of the same year ; Co-consecrators were the substitute in the Vatican State Secretariat , Archbishop Giuseppe Caprio , and the Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , Archbishop Curia Duraisamy Simon Lourdusamy .

Silvio Luoni resigned as Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Thailand and Apostolic Delegate in Malaysia, Singapore and Laos as early as 1980.
