Simeon Eben Baldwin (born February 5, 1840 in New Haven , Connecticut , † January 30, 1927 ibid) was an American politician and governor of the state of Connecticut from 1911 to 1915 .

Baldwin was a lawyer who actively campaigned for the Democratic Party in politics. During his successful studies at Yale University , he was appointed to the Skull & Bones company located there. He was a judge at the Connecticut Supreme Court from 1897 to 1907 , chief justice of this court (1907-1910) and a candidate for the US Senatorial Office in Connecticut in 1914. In 1898 he was accepted into the American Academy of Arts and Letters . In 1910 he became an elected member of the American Philosophical Society . In 1912 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences . He died in New Haven; his grave is in Grove Street Cemetery .

He was the son of Roger Sherman Baldwin , who was also Governor of Connecticut from 1844 to 1846.
