Zug is one of the most important architects of Polish classicism . He came from the Wettin town of Merseburg and at the beginning of his career worked for the building department of the Electoral Saxon Court in Dresden from 1752 . When August III. Moved to Warsaw during the Seven Years' War , Zug followed him in 1756 and stayed in the Polish capital even after the end of the war. In 1768 he was ennobled there.
