Simpert Kraemer
Simpert Kraemer , also Kramer (born October 2, 1679 in Bichel near Weißensee near Füssen, † January 14, 1753 in Edelstetten near Krumbach, today in Neuburg an der Kammel ) was a German builder and architect of the Baroque era .
life and work
As the eldest son of Mang Kraemer, he first completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and then went on a guild wandering with his brother. At that time, the father was entrusted with building a new church tower in Edelstetten , so that Simpert Kraemer also came to Edelstetten and carried out various assignments there.
In 1708 Kraemer was commissioned to take over the construction of the new collegiate church of St. Johannes Baptist and Johannes Evangelist in Edelstetten, which had been designed by Christoph Vogt. The stucco work inside the church was also installed by Kraemer. In addition to working with Vogt, Kraemer also gained notoriety outside of Edelstetten and was given tasks there. He made a name for himself as an architect and planner in Krumbach , Pfaffenhausen , Burtenbach and Neuburg an der Kammel , for example .
His main works are the monastery complex and monastery church of Ottobeuren and the monastery church Roggenburg , the latter together with his son and successor Johann Martin Kraemer .
Kraemer was married to Gaudentia Greiner and had twelve children with her.
The state high school in Krumbach bears his name.
