Sina Mayer (born April 10, 1995 in Neunkirchen / Saar ) is a German athlete who specializes in 100 and 200 meter runs as well as relay runs.

career path

After acquiring the subject- related university entrance qualification , Sina Mayer completed a voluntary social year (FSJ). She is studying health management at the German University for Prevention and Health Management (DHfPG).

Athletic career

Sina Mayer went from gymnastics to jumping rope and started in 2010 with TV Kübelberg at the World Championships in England. At the age of 14 she came to athletics at the LAZ Zweibrücken . Over 100 and 200 meters she established herself with several Palatinate and Rhineland Palatinate titles in her age group. This was followed by qualifications for the German U18 and U20 youth championships .

In 2014 Mayer secured the nomination for the U20 sprint relay at the Junior World Championships in Eugene (Oregon) with a time of 11.75 s over 100 meters , where she received the bronze medal as a substitute runner.

In 2015 she was U23 European champion with the 4 x 100 meter relay in Tallinn and finished fourth in the German U23 championships over 100 meters and 6th place over 200 meters.

In 2016 Mayer was runner-up at the German University Hall Championships over 60 meters and came in 7th place over this distance at the German Indoor Championships . Because of a foot injury, she had to end the season prematurely.

In 2017 she won the 100 meter championship at the German University Championships and became German U23 runner-up on this route. In July, the Allgemeine Deutsche Hochschulsportverband (adh) nominated her for the Summer Universiade in Taipei . At the U23 European Championships in Bydgoszcz, she won bronze over 100 meters.

Mayer belongs to the B-team of the German Athletics Association (DLV) .
