Are all men pigs? is a German comedy film by director Sophie Allet-Coche from 2010. In the lead role , Valerie Niehaus plays divorce lawyer Maja, who can hear men's thoughts after being electrocuted .

action

The author Maja, who lives alone with her son Niklas, has had enough of the male world. When Niklas became a young teenager, she started looking for a job. Since the head of a law firm likes her books, she manages to get a job as a divorce lawyer there. However, it is made clear to her right from the start that she has to work hard in the law firm and that she has to assert herself as a woman in the domain dominated by men.

When she has to make a phone call in the car on the way to work, she tries to turn the car radio down, which she fails. Out of sheer desperation, she pulls it out of the installation slot and receives a violent electric shock. As a result, she is miraculously able to hear the thoughts of all men. As a lawyer and also privately, this of course opens up completely new paths for her, which in the end will be fatal for her. It is suspected that she had unauthorized access to files because she knew things from the other legal counsel that she actually had no way of knowing. As a result of this fact, she initially gets into a dispute with the lawyer on the other side, Hanno. She is also annoyed that he cannot remember her at all; after all, they had a brief affair years ago.

However, through her ability to hear the thoughts, she learns that Hanno likes her very much. At first Hanno continues to believe that she lied to him until Maja proves to him that she can hear his thoughts. When the two of them are together on Hanno's boat, Maja steps with bare feet on a pile of rolled up and poorly insulated cables, whereupon she receives another electric shock and loses her ability, while Hanno, who is also electrocuted, is now able to to hear the thoughts of all women. They reconcile, become a couple and set up a joint law firm.
