The Elbe type is a type of coaster from the Slovak shipyard Slovenské Lodenice in Komárno on the Danube . Six units of this type of ship were built for one-ship companies of the Elbe Trans Schiffahrtsgesellschaft in Hamburg , which belonged to the Rohden shipping company.
description
The ships are from a four-stroke - eight-cylinder - diesel engine of the manufacturer Deutz MWM (type: SBV 8M 628) driven. The motor acts on a fixed propeller via a reduction gear . The ships reach a speed of around 12 knots . They are equipped with a water jet propulsion designed thruster equipped, which by a Scania diesel engine is (Type: DS 11) is driven.
Two diesel generator sets are available for generating electricity, each driven by a Deutz MWM diesel engine (type: TD 226-6). Furthermore, an emergency and harbor generator of the same configuration was installed.
The deck superstructures are located in the rear of the ships. The ships can accommodate ten crew members . There are three officers' chambers and four cabins for the other seafarers, including three double and one single cabins, which are spread over two decks . The wheelhouse is separated from the flat superstructure and hydraulically adjustable in height. The masts can be folded down. The ships can thus pass under fixed bridges over rivers and canals. The fixed point height of the ships is 12.60 m (measured from the keel ).
There is a hold in front of the superstructure , which is closed with folding hatch covers consisting of eight segments . The hatch covers can be moved hydraulically. The cargo area is 53.40 m long, 9.00 m wide and 7.61 m high. The capacity is around 3,485 m³.
The ships are equipped for the transport of containers . The container capacity is 105 TEU . 69 TEU can be found in the room, 36 TEU on deck.
The hull of the ships is reinforced with ice ( ice class E2).
