Soini is a municipality in the South Ostrobothnian countryside in western Finland .

The municipality of Soini includes the places Hautakylä, Jokivarsi, Keisala, Kirkonkylä, Kukko, Kuninkaanjoki, Laasala, Parviaisenkylä, Ulvonkylä, Vehu and Vuorenmaa.

politics

As in most rural areas of Finland, the Center Party is the strongest political force in Soini . In the 2017 local elections she received 45.6 percent of the vote. In the local council, the highest decision-making body in local affairs, it has 11 out of 21 MPs and thus has a narrow absolute majority. The second strongest party are the Christian Democrats , which is well above their national election success. The True Finns have three seats and the conservative National Collection Party two seats.
