The Strutberg near Sohlingen in the southern Lower Saxony district of Northeim is 444.1 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the south of the German low mountain range Solling . The Sollingturm stands on its summit .

location
The Strutberg is located in the southern part of the Solling-Vogler Nature Park around 4.2 km northwest of the city center of Uslar . From its district of Sohlingen , which lies south of the mountain, its summit can be reached via a steep ascent, among other things. Southeast of the mountain is Eschershausen with the local situation Meinte , southwest is chamber Born and west Schönhagen . Parts of the protected landscape area Solling ( CDDA no. 324596; designated 1999; 330.149 km² ) are located on the heavily forested mountain .
Natural allocation
The Strutberg belongs in the natural spatial main unit group Weser-Leine-Bergland (No. 37) and in the main unit Solling, Bramwald and Reinhardswald (370) to the sub-unit Kuppiger Solling (370.1).
Sollingturm
On the Strutberg stands the Sollingturm , which is about 30 m high and was built from stone as the "Hitler Tower" from March 21, 1934 to August 25, 1935 and should not be confused with the Hochsollingturm near Silberborn. Its construction costs were around 33,000 Reichsmarks and it was hoped that it would attract a larger number of tourists to the area. The owner of the tower was and is the Solling Association. A renovation was co-financed by the European Union's LEADER + program . Originally the tower was to be built on the Großer Steinberg near Vahle , where the wooden Harzblick observation tower is now.
From its viewing platform you have a good view, especially towards the southeast: you can look east to the Harzblick observation tower on the Großer Steinberg, to the south-southeast to the Gauss tower on the Hohen Hagen in the Dransfeld forest and to the south over the Bramwald to the Kaufungen forest . To the southwest you look at the Reinhardswald and to the west the view extends to the windmill-rich Paderborn region .
