Sonja Romei is the daughter of an Austrian mother and a father of Turkish origin. She studied singing in Vienna, followed by a private acting course, which she completed in 2000 with the stage maturity examination before the joint commission of the stage union. From the end of the 1990s, Romei worked as an actress on stages in Austria and Germany, including the Reichenau Festival , the Rabenhof Theater , the Drachengasse Theater , the Stadt Haag Summer Theater, the Berndorf City Theater, the Theater der Jugend, the Neue Bühne Villach, the Metropol Wien, at the Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck .
