history

Spechtshausen was an individual property in the Grillenburg-Tharandt office in the later corridor Hartha mit Spechtshausen and goes back to the settlement of the Saxon foot servant Georg Specht in 1568 as a forester in the Tharandt forest . Therefore the place name is derived from Specht's house , which was created around 1575. It was first mentioned in 1588 as Specht's house on the Waldeck . The parish of Hartha and Spechtshausen existed since 1829. From 1855 there was a community association with Hartha. In 1856 Spechtshausen belonged to the Tharandt court office, before that to the office of the same name. In 1875 Spechtshausen became part of the Dresden administration . When Hartha merged with Spechtshausen and Hintergersdorf into one place in 1926, Spechtshausen also became part of the community. In 1933 Hartha-Hintergersdorf was renamed Kurort Hartha. From 1950 Spechtshausen belonged to Fördergersdorf and from 1952 was part of the newly formed Freital district (later the district ). In 1973 it was incorporated into the Hartha health resort and recognized by the state as a resort. Since 1994 part of the Weißeritzkreis , Spechtshausen has been part of the city of Tharandt since 1999. In 2008 Spechtshausen was transferred to the Saxon Switzerland-Eastern Ore Mountains district . In December 2010 it was again recognized by the state as a resort.
