action

In Bikini Bottom everyone looks forward to Christmas except for plankton, who are always given coal for being naughty. Therefore he wants to let everyone get naughty except himself, because then he is nice compared to the others. To do this, he discovered the new element fiesonium , which makes everyone angry. He spreads the newly discovered element on a fruit cake, which he distributes with the help of a cart that looks like a fruit cake. Since Plankton tried the Fiesonium on SpongeBob first, he believed that Fiesonium had no effect. So Plankton gives the car away to SpongeBob, who distributes fruit cakes to the whole city. As it later turns out, SpongeBob is immune to Fiesonium. The Fiesonium turns everyone in Bikini Bottom except SpongeBob because their heart is too big for their brain. In order to portray Spongebob as naughty in the eyes of Santa Claus, Plankton builds a SpongeBob doppelganger who only does mean things. By chance, SpongeBob finds out that you can neutralize the effects of the fiesonium by singing a special Christmas carol. When Santa Claus comes to Bikini Bottom, he first thinks that Plankton is the only good one and SpongeBob is the naughtiest, but then "SpongeBot" comes along who built the plankton and threatens Santa Claus. SpongeBob fights the now huge SpongeBot with the help of the fruit cake cart and saves Santa Claus. Santa Claus apologizes to SpongeBob and finds out that Plankton created SpongeBot. He punishes plankton with coal and flies on with his sledge. However, Patrick snuck on board and catches Santa Claus, believing that this will allow him to celebrate Christmas all year round.

In the meantime, Patchy the pirate and Potty the parrot are looking for Santa's workshop, for which Patchy steals a post bus. However, the car is stopped by a fork in the street and Patchy and Potty have neither a bed nor something to eat. The two get hallucinations and Patchy thinks he has found Santa's workshop. However, he walks in the middle of a polar bear cave and is hunted by the animal. Potty and Santa Claus classify Patchy as angry and wish the viewer a Merry Christmas.
