Fritz Rott (born June 9, 1959 in Essen ; also known as Friedhelm Rott ) is a German voice actor , director and dialog book author .

career

After graduating from high school in 1979, Rott studied German and music from 1981 to 1988 to become a teacher at the University of Essen. Since 1991 he has been working as a freelance voice actor, dialog book author, director and composer. Rott became known to a wide audience after he was named by SpongePedia on November 16, 2011 as the new voice of Patrick Star in the animated series SpongeBob SquarePants : He took over this role from Marco Kroeger from season 8 . After commuting between Essen and Berlin for just over four years, Rott decided to move permanently to Berlin in 2011. There he is now also active as a dialogue book author and director. He is also known as the voice of the dragon warrior Po in the series Kung Fu Panda - Legends with Fur and Fu , for which he also recorded the theme song, as well as Jack David Foster (played by Sandy Jobin-Bevans ) in Alone Among Boys or as Henry Morgan (played by Ioan Gruffudd ) in the TV series Forever .

He can also be heard in computer games, for example in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1) or The Lord of the Rings . As an author, he wrote the dialogue books for the series Darker than Black and Black Cat . He also composed the music for the video production McFarlin .
