David Cross
David Cross (born April 4, 1964 in Atlanta , Georgia ) is an American stand-up comedian and actor .
Life
David Cross attended Emerson College in Boston , which he left prematurely to begin a stage career. He came first in the Boston area in various comedy groupings on, including in the opening act of Cavedogs , and later, especially in Los Angeles where he comedy troupe Sketch Comedy Cross also founded his own.
He began his television career writing for the Ben Stiller Show , which was only broadcast on Fox for a short time . He then co-created the HBO comedy show Mr. Show with Bob and David with Bob Odenkirk , on which he also acted as a leading actor, writer and co-producer. The series, which ran until 1998, achieved cult status. In 2015, the two comedians continued their collaboration on the Netflix series W / Bob and David .
Cross appeared in the sitcom Arrested Development from 2003 to 2006 and 2013 in the role of Tobias Fünke and in 2010 played the lead role in the US sitcom The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret . He was also featured in various US sitcoms, such as the series Running Wilde . In the satirical program The Colbert Report , Cross appeared repeatedly in the role of the liberal radio host Russ Lieber.
In addition, David Cross can be seen in many films, including Men in Black , Men in Black II , Ghost World , Scary Movie 2 , Dr. Dolittle 2 and the Kung Fu Panda films.
David Cross also has a successful stand-up comedy career. He has released several CDs, one of which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album in 2004. It ranks 85th on the Comedy Central 100 Greatest Standups of All Time list .
Since 2004, Cross has also been a voice actor for various video games .
