Reviews

Jamie Gillies called the "lifeless" thriller "garbage" in the Apollo Movie Guide . It is sad that John Badham has directed. The plot is "standard commodity", the supporting actors would act like in a television show about police officers. Worth mentioning is the portrayal of Corin Nemec as a brutal psychopath, who wins the sympathy of the audience due to his childhood. Tripplehorn seems unrealistic and unconvincing - but she gains points by not trying to imitate Jodie Foster's portrayal of what Julianne Moore did in Hannibal .

Cinema magazine wrote that the film was "losing tension".

TVdirekt magazine wrote that the film offered "common cop clichés".

Awards

The film was nominated for the Saturn Award in 2003 .
