description

A church was first mentioned in 1296. Today's hall church , built from rubble stones , was completed in 1697 on the foundations of a previous building from the 15th century, as evidenced by an inscription on a window sill . The nave has a three-sided end of the choir and a recessed church tower in the west. The choir has ogival windows, as does the nave on the south side. On the north-east wall there is an ogival panel from the previous building. In 1847, the church tower was raised , which can be easily recognized by the change in the masonry about halfway up the tower. It was a reckless undertaking because the foundation was not designed for it. The tower was given a neo-Gothic shape and a tall, slated octagonal pointed helmet . The tower also received an extension . In 1874 the church was fundamentally repaired.

The interior is spanned with a double-broken wooden barrel vault. It has two-story galleries on three sides. The choir is increased by one level. On the stone cafeteria there are two painted wings of a winged altar from the late 15th century, but they were painted over in the 19th century. They show the birth of Christ on the left and the adoration of the kings on the right . The baptismal font , created around 1500, stands on a broad, cylindrical pedestal , the eight-sided cupola of which stands on an eight-sided shaft that is decorated with tracery . A figure of Christ on the north wall of the choir was originally part of a coronation of Mary from the 2nd half of the 15th century.

The organ is on the upper west gallery. It has 14 registers , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , and was built around 1860 by an unknown organ builder .
