The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Jakob and Andreas is a church in the Bavarian municipality of Wartmannsroth in the Lower Franconian district of Bad Kissingen .

The church belongs to the architectural monuments of Wartmannsroth and is registered under the number D-6-72-161-1 in the Bavarian monument list .

The church is dedicated to St. Consecrated to Jakob and Andreas.

history

Wartmannsroth was a branch of Diebach until 1737 and has been an independent parish ever since .

The late Gothic church of St. Jakob and Andreas has a choir in the basement and dates from the 15th or 16th century. The nave of the church was built in 1711. It was inaugurated on October 13, 1748 by Prince Abbot Amand von Buseck .

In 1934 the church was expanded.

The church tower stands as a choir tower in the east. It is two-story with a pointed helmet and pointed-arch sound windows . The choir room in the basement has a pointed arch window with tracery and a ribbed vault on the south and east sides . The original nave with a gable roof has three window axes . The windows are arched with segment or triangular gables. The extension of the nave has arched windows and a transverse hipped roof. The entire nave has a flat roof.

Furnishing

The baroque high altar from around 1711 has four Corinthian columns and a statue of St. Mary as the central figure, which is made up of representations of St. James and St. Andreas is flanked. Of the two later side altars , the left houses a Sacred Heart figure, the right a crucifix. The pulpit is also baroque. The organ on the western gallery was installed in 1936 by the Bader company in a case dating from 1700 to 1720.

Peal

The ringing consists of four bells . Three bells were cast by the Ullrich bell foundry in Apolda in 1953. The smallest bell was made in 1622 and was cast in 1788.
