history

At the beginning of the 20th century, a chapel was built in Oberhausen, which was destroyed in the Second World War and then rebuilt by the residents of the village. In the mid-1950s, the chapel was no longer enough for the believers in Oberhausen and in 1955 the local mayor turned to the vicariate general with a request for permission to build a church. In 1957 he was followed by the chairman of the chapel building association with the same concern. The diocese of Aachen approved the project and from 1961 to 1963 today's branch church was built according to plans by the Bonn architect Norbert Hieronymi . On May 1, 1963, the new church was given a name .
