St. Mary

The Evangelical Lutheran , listed church of St. Maria is in Lindewerra , a community in the Hanstein-Rusteberg administrative community in the Eichsfeld district of Thuringia . The parish Lindewerra belongs to the parish area Wahlhausen in the parish of Mulhouse the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

The simple plastered hall church was built in 1738, but the top of the choir tower was not completed until 1789. The nave is covered with a gable roof. It closes flush with the attached choir tower, which is led over the eaves of the nave . The slate-covered hood is crowned by an open lantern with a tower ball . There are buttresses between the choir tower and the nave .

The uniform interior has no separate choir area. It is covered with a cap . The baroque organ stands on the gallery in the west . It has 11 stops , divided into a manual and a pedal , and was built by Johann Justus Hansen around 1770 and restored by Karl Brode & Sohn. In the choir there is a late Gothic carved winged altar from the early 16th century, which was restored in 1994. In the shrine which is Coronation shown. On both sides, on separate pedestals , there are reliefs with St. Margaret and St. Dorothea . On the left of the wings the pair of figures of St. Catherine and St. Barbara can be seen, on the right St. Cyriacus and Maria Magdalena can be seen. The outer wings are painted with the Annunciation of the Lord and Anna herself . The pulpit dates from 1639.
