description
There was already a previous Romanesque building . Today's rectangular hall church with retracted, transversely rectangular choir tower was built from 1724 to 1731 while retaining a Gothic church tower without the former apse . The tower has three storeys and has a pointed tent roof on the stump of an overhanging pyramid roof . When the interior was renovated around 1880, the choir was redesigned. The nave is covered with a painted wooden barrel vault. The picture in the middle by HC Kirchhoff represents the Holy Trinity , surrounded by the evangelists and angels. It was heavily revised in 1771, 1889 and 1972, respectively. The gallery comes from the construction and has rococo - ornaments . The fields of the parapets are painted with scenes from the life of Jesus , created in 1890 by Luis Müller from Hollenbach. The late Gothic baptismal font is decorated with rich tracery . The pulpit , which dates from the first half of the 17th century, has winding columns and carved figures of Christ and the Evangelists. It was heavily revised in 1968/69. A statue of Saint Barbara , made around 1500, is also part of the church furnishings .
The organ with 13 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1889 by Friedrich Erdmann Petersilie and rebuilt by Hornschuh in 1935, comprehensively from 1967–72.
