description

The late Gothic hall church has a three-sided closed choir and a church tower from the Romanesque period , a former defensive tower , on the north side. The tower has a slate-roofed storey for the bell chamber , which also houses the tower clock . The tower is covered with an eight-sided helmet . In the basement of the tower is the crypt of the imperial barons of Meusebach from 1669. The windows have pointed arches without tracery. The church was once plastered, the corner stones are exposed to stone. The tracery windows in the choir polygon are z. Some of the original is still preserved. The nave , which is covered with a slate-covered gable roof and which is aligned with the choir in the south, juts out over the choir in the north. The windows and portals in the nave were renewed in 1620–1623.

The interior has three-sided two-story galleries and is covered with a wooden barrel vault. The wooden pulpit altar from 1705 is covered with stucco . The pulpit is flanked with Corinthian columns and carries a painting of the Queen of Sheba before Solomon . A small baroque prospect houses the organ . It has 10 stops , divided into 2 manuals and a pedal , and was built around 1830 by an unknown organ builder and restored in 1885 by Ottmar Börner. An epitaph with a crucifix dates from the early 17th century .
