The Roman Catholic subsidiary church of St. Martin is the village church of Münster , a district of Eußenheim in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart . It is one of the architectural monuments of Eußenheim and is entered in the Bavarian Monument List under the number D-6-77-127-97 .

history

A church with the patronage of St. Martin is mentioned in Münster as early as 1491. The present church was built in its place between 1706 and 1709 with the assistance of Joseph Greising . It was inaugurated on October 1, 1713. In 2004 and 2005 an exterior renovation of the church took place. In 2006 the 300th anniversary of the laying of the foundation stone was celebrated.

The choir of the church is in the east. A hexagonal roof turret with a Welscher hood rises above the saddle roof of the choir and nave . The sacristy is attached to the south of the choir. The interior is baroque and dates from the construction period. On the high altar , the Annunciation is depicted amidst figures of Saints Martin and George , above the Archangel Michael . The side altars show the crucifixion (left) and the birth of Christ with a figure of Our Lady (right) under canopies , each framed by angels . The hexagonal font with the year 1757 is placed next to the right side altar. The four evangelists are depicted in the pulpit . The organ was installed in the western gallery by Johann Adam Höffner from Würzburg in 1773 . The central ceiling painting, Saint Martin on horseback, and the corner medallions of the four church teachers were created by the Würzburg painter Eulogius Böhler in 1923. The figure of Christ Salvator above the western main portal was made by the sculptor Franz Schäflein from the Karlstadt district of Stadelhofen in 2006 on the occasion of the 300th -year laying of the foundation stone.
