The Roman Catholic Church of St. Simon and Judas , consecrated to Saints Simon and Jude , is located in Neustadt , a district of the rural community Am Ohmberg in the Thuringian district of Eichsfeld . The filial community Neustadt parish Bischofferode part of the deanery Leinefelde-Worbis in the Diocese of Erfurt .

The hall church , built from rubble stones in 1736, has a three-sided choir in the east and a narrow, rectangular church tower in the west . The top floor of the tower, behind whose sound arcades the belfry is located, is slated . Above it is a hood on which an open lantern sits, which is crowned by a tower ball . The flat-roofed ground floor of the tower is opened by basket arches to the groin-vaulted nave . The high altar from 1765 comes from the Gerode monastery . In the altarpiece is Assumption shown. On the south wall there is a wooden portrait of the Virgin from the beginning of the 18th century. The baptismal font on the south side of the tower is late Romanesque . The organ with 18 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built by Jehmlich Orgelbau in 1965 .
