history

The main parts of the church date from the 15th century. In 1722 it was repaired by Simpert Kraemer . In 1955 and 1956 the parish church was renovated.

Building description

The nave contains four window axes and a flat ceiling . The choir has moved in, contains two window axes and a 5/8 end with a stitch cap vault. Both in the choir and in the nave there are windows with offset round arches. A two-storey wooden gallery is inside the church. The church tower has a gable roof and is located on the western front of the church. In the lower area the tower is not structured, the top three floors contain corner pilaster strips and clover-leaf arch friezes. Sound arcades are installed on the top floor. The sacristy , which was expanded in the 18th century, is located between the choir and nave on the north side. The sacristy has arched windows and a pent roof . On the south side between the nave and the church tower there is a mount of olives. This is probably medieval.

Furnishing

Adoration of the miraculous image of Genazano

The high altar is made of marbled wood and dates from 1730/1740. The rotating niche tabernacle is from an older time. To the right and left of the modern altarpiece, next to staggered free columns on consoles, there are the figures of Saints Theodore and Alexander. Both figures are painted white. The archangel Raphael is shown in the elevator picture of the high altar . This portrait can be ascribed to a master of the Ottobeurer circle, probably Franz Anton Erler . The two side altars are also superstructures made of marbled wood and come from the same time as the high altar. The left side altar shows St. Magdalena on the painted antependium and a rosary Madonna with St. Dominic and St. Catherine of Siena on the altarpiece . The altarpiece is labeled F. Herman fecit 1666 , meaning Franz Georg Hermann the Elder . The side altar on the right also has a painted antependium and shows St. Peter. The altarpiece from the 18th century in the style of Johann Friedrich Sichelbein III depicts a crucifixion group.

The marbled wood baptismal font dates from the middle of the 19th century. The basin is on an octagonal pillar. The lid bears the group of figures of the baptism of Christ.

The pulpit , also made of marbled wood with partially gilded decor, was created around 1790 . The articulated basket carries the figures of the four evangelists . The stalls were made from softwood in 1790 . The ceiling painting was created in 1920 by the Haugg brothers.

There are several paintings in the church. These are the stoning of St. Stephen from 1730, Mary of the Good Council from 1768 and the veneration of the miraculous image of Genazano from the middle of the 18th century. The wooden figures of the crucifixion group, Maria and Johannes, date from the 18th century. Just like the figures of Christ with angels and apostles on the Mount of Olives. The crucifix dates from the early 16th century.

There are two epitaphs in the church . One for Pastor Raphael Heinrich († 1756) and one for Pastor Nikolaus Heel († 1702). A memorial plaque made of Solnhofer Platte is attached to the fallen from 1805 to 1815.
