history

In November 1924 the city decided to build a new stadium. On November 22, 1925, the new facility with the wooden grandstand Via Ascoli was inaugurated. On March 18, 1931, the construction of a grandstand with 1,500 seats began. The inauguration of the 400,000 ₤ it grandstand took place on October 28, 1932. In 1937 the wooden tier was replaced by a concrete tier. The athletics facility is inaugurated on April 30, 1938 . In 1950 the spectator tiers were expanded and the changing rooms and showers were renewed.

In 1964 the US Foggia rose to Serie A , the top Italian division. This was taken as an opportunity to expand the stadium. The running track was removed and the facility was expanded to accommodate over 20,000 spectators. Ten years later an east grandstand was built; which can accommodate 7,121 fans. In 1980 the stands behind the goal were rebuilt. The north curve offers 5,846 spaces and the south curve 5,871 spaces. In 1985 a new floodlight system was installed and the pitch was replaced. On September 22, 1991, the new, covered west grandstand with space for 6,247 spectators was inaugurated. In 1998 the stadium was completely equipped with seats.
